this policy explains what grepthat (grepthat.com) collects, how it's used, and what control you have over it. grepthat is part of the manymoats family of products and this policy is written to be honest and clear about what we collect and why.

1. what we collect

• account information — your email address, login credentials, and profile details you provide when you create an account.
• usage & telemetry — activity data such as reports requested and feature usage, so we can operate and improve the product.
• payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. we never see or store your card number; we receive only what's needed to manage your purchase or subscription (plan, status, billing history).
• report inputs — the company, product, or category names and any other query text you submit to generate a report.

2. how we use it

we use collected data to run the service, generate the reports you request, provide support, improve features, and communicate important account or billing notices. we do not sell your data.

3. cookies & local storage

grepthat uses cookies and browser local storage for functionality — keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, and basic session handling. some things — like your preferences and session — stay in your browser; the data we do collect to run and improve the product is listed above, and we're upfront about all of it.

4. sharing

we share data only with the service providers needed to run grepthat (for example, hosting, payment processing, and the AI/research providers used to compile a report you requested), and only to the extent needed for them to perform that function. we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. your rights

you can ask us to access, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing support@manymoats.com. we'll respond and handle the request directly.

6. data retention

we keep account, report, and usage data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes, comply with legal obligations, or as described in our refund & cancellation policy. you can request earlier deletion at any time.

7. children

grepthat is not directed to children and is intended for use by adults 18 and older, or the age of majority where they live; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. security

we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

we may update this policy from time to time. material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
